HE? SHE? THEY? Talking with your kids about sexual identity and gender issues
OCTOBER 17 from 7-9 PM at LEFC City Park
Our kids face questions about gender and sexuality almost every day, and it’s up to parents to guide the conversations. But what if you don’t know where to start? This session begins to equip parents of Elementary, Jr. and Sr. high students to journey with their kids, even as we grapple with our own understanding of issues related to sexual orientation and gender identity. We’ll hold truth and grace in equal tension as we discuss God’s heart for our children and our families.
HOW TO DAD: Basic training for maximum Dadness
NOVEMBER 14 from 7-9 PM at LEFC City Park
From tea parties and toilet aim, to fentanol and fake IDs, a Dad has got to be equipped to handle every scenario that his kids are navigating. Figuring out how to raise kids who respect you and others, and who walk with integrity and honour is one of the toughest jobs a Dad will take on. This training session features a panel of Dads who will speak candidly about their wins and loses, and what they learned along the way. You’ll walk away with new skills, fresh eyes, and ideas about how to raise kids who can change the world.
BABY BODY, MIND & SOUL: Wholistic coaching for new parents
OCTOBER 1 or NOVEMBER 19 10:45 AM – 12 PM at LEFC City Park
It’s easy for new parents to get so absorbed in the physical realities of the baby’s eating, sleeping and pooping, that developing their mind and soul take a back seat. This session helps equip parents with strategies to nurture whole health, and creates a space for the church and parents to work together to help young families as grow healthy and strong. For those who want to have their children dedicated at LEFC, this session is a pre-requisite.
